With all of the recent buzz surrounding the ability to gaslessly import DNS domains names into ENS as a crypto wallet, I noticed that the rest of the industry that resolves ENS names on their platform has not caught up just yet. Here’s a table showing what works and what doesn’t work as of this moment:
| App | .eth | onchain DNS imports | gasless DNS imports |
| Coinbase mobile wallet app | ✓ | ✓ | X |
| Coinbase desktop app | ✓ | ✓ | X |
| Coinbase.com | ✓ | X | X |
| Rainbow mobile wallet app | ✓ | X | X |
| Farcaster | ✓ | X | X |
| OpenSea | ✓ | X | X |
| PayPal crypto wallet | X | X | X |
| MetaMask mobile wallet app | ✓ | ✓ | X |
| MetaMask desktop app | ✓ | ✓ | ✓ |
As one can see, the DNS import compatibility has a way to go. If this is something you want to try, I wrote a very easy guide here.
